- The declarer cannot meld before playing the first trick.
- After picking up the kitty, the declarer may forfeit the round.
For every third forfeit, each opponent scores 60 points (120 points in 2-player).
- In 3-player games, every third round captured 0 points in tricks as a defender scores -120 points.
This does not count rounds played on the barrel.
- Scores above 380/880 in 500/1000-point game but below the target score are automatically adjusted to 380/880.
Players with the adjusted score may win only by achieving a bid of 120 or more points.
If the score is still the same after 3 rounds, the player scores -120 points.
