Congratulations DRSHARKY!

The Route 66 Spring 2021 Championship winner is drsharky (France) at 29 points, with close second being pietyboy (Belgium) at a single point behind (28). Blaxjoma (Spain) also makes it on the podium at 26 points. Congratulations to all three of you

In practice, the championship has not really ended yet, but the final podium results won't change. There's a single stuck race which can't be ended by other pilots and I failed so far to get a response from FINN69. I have reported the issue but I suspect the race will end after a lack of activity (after a few weeks?). Thus it'll be a while before the championship officially ends.

Rejoice, the Route 66 Summer 2021 Tournament is full and will begin next week.

The Route 66 Summer 2021 Tournament is ready for you to join

The announcement and changes:

Dear Pilots, welcome back!

Get ready, the second installment of the Route 66 Championship will begin the first day of June. 6 pilots x 6 races with the Swiss ranking system. Please join only if you can play your turns all Summer long. This time we're racing two laps on random short tracks. The tournament should be done by the end of August.

As a signature, the Route 66 Tournament have warning lights off, you've been warned!

This time, the weather is also set to random. The minimum ELO score to join to 200.

LAST RACE !

The last race of the first Route 66 Championship has begun, enjoy your races everyone

pietyboy is currently leading the tournament at 25 points.. but drsharky is just behind at 23 pts followed by several pilots whom could as well win the cup!

Lots of seasoned pilots demonstrated their skills over the course of the tournament. I learned a lot myself and hope you did as well.

Out of the 66 pilots, 2 left BGA impacting the races they were involved. Unfortunate, but not that bad.

With 6 pilots scattered around the globe, races require up to about 3 weeks to complete. I already got requests for a Route 66 Summer 2021 Championship, expect it over to coming weeks

Having the overspeed alarm turned off in long tournament is especially obnoxious. As it's normally turned on, it's not something a player is necessarily going to remember between turns when those turns are days apart. (Yes, it is possible to enlarge the screen by 300% every turn to read the tiny markings, but it's way nicer not to have to.).

tankoalhadji I think it is ok to have the tournamendt this way. We chose to be here.
And remembering the alarm is no different than remembering why you stoped right there. I was told that exactly this is the fun challenge in turnbased.

Pilots, get on the grid, the races begin!

Great to see the Route 66 Tournament has its 66 pilots and the races are about to begin. Make your engine roar!

Important advice: as long as players play their turns regularly, say within 24h or so once its their turn, let the race continue even if some players have timed out. While we don’t want the races to last forever, take into account the BGA tournaments were made for 1 vs 1 races... until now thanks to the new Swiss v2 beta system. That’s wonderful, but with the drawback that current time limits don’t match the reality of 6 pilots scattered across multiple time zones. Don’t make players skip turns at the first opportunity, be nice, it’s for fun!

Get on the grid, it’s now time to speed up and show your skills! Enjoy and may the best pilots win

Dear Pilots, welcome!

The Route 66 Championship will begin in a bit more than a week! Six pilots x 6 races, made possible thanks to the new Swiss rankings. It's always sunny on Route 66, but careful: no dice warnings when you're going too fast.

This is the second launch of the Route 66 tournament. Improvements include:
* Longer time per player to ensure no pilot or the game automatically times out. Please join if you can play at least one turn a day.
* Minimum number of players per race now set to 5, to ensure races can happen if the total number of pilots does not reach 66 or can't be divided by 6.
