Don't overlook the end game bonus points for matching some of every type of apple, they can add up to a lot of points. Don't let yourself get too low on honey early in the game, make sure you're matching honey pots to keep your options open.

Try to put your multiple color tiles towards the middle and your single colored tiles on the edge of your board, to help you connect your same colored tiles together.
