As I played my turbo cube, the game let me choose where I wanted to end my movement but not the path. As I result, I got only 2 wear cubes when I could have gotten 3 and actually wanted to get 3.
So apparently, the game choose the yellow path for me (see screenshot) whereas I wanted the orange one.
I guess that the default behavior is to take the path of least wear cubes but that is not always what you want, especially if you have pilot 07 like I did.
Maybe there could be an option or a question asked, possibly only when you have pilot 07 ( as it is extremely rare to want more wear than necessary when not playing with pilot 07).
There are many different ways to solve this.
I think the ideal would be this:
1) add an option for what do "When multiple paths are possible ", with the following possible values:
* Always take the path of least wear
* Always take the path of highest wear
* Ask me if relevant --> see 2
2) Question asked just before wear phase:
The game would remember the minimum wear and maximum wear possible for the cubes you places and if the two are different (which will be rather rare), then ask what the player want.
So in my screenshot, I would have been asked whether I wanted 2 wear or 3 wear cubes assuming I had chosen the 3rd possibility for the option.
If I had decided to also play my cube 5 during that turn, then I would have had 3 wear cubes no matter what and game would not have asked me.
I know, this can be complex to implement.
Side note:
It is somewhat similar to what happens with the Downforce game where you are sometimes asked whether you want to use the path that allows the car to use "Determined" (path with only rectangular spaces) or not. And that question is only asked when it is actually relevant.
