Even with confirmation activated, it is easy to make a mistake when laying out tracks and that will very often be game breaking.
I see multiple ways to improve this here are the ones I prefer:
1) Change how the confirmation works : make the confirmation (when the option is activated) be for the entire turn and have it be in the status bar. ( so that no part of the map is covered by a popup and also because people tend to automatically click confirm on popups )
2) If you lay a track that seems "weird", add an extra confirmation step with a message. 'Weird' would be any of the following:
- a) a track that is not connected to any city or previously placed track (yes, you do that willingly sometimes, but not often)
- b) a track next to a city where one end is dangling and the other is not connected to the city (yes, you do that willingly sometimes but not often)
- c) a track where one end leads to a mountain or outside of the map
- d) a track where on end leads to a tile where there is a track but without the 2 actually connecting
I think the best option is 1 because 2 does not cover every single possible missclick and requires more texts.
Option 1 might be more complex technically, I don't know. As the idea would be to also undo changes of dice (using special card 5 or card 1) double actions (using card 2) etc... and return everything to the state at the start of your turn
Option 1 can be reduced to just canceling the lay of the track / last part of the action.
